Australian War Memorial Competition, 2008, Canberra, NSW.

Mackenzie Pronk Architects with Healy-Finlay Studio.

The National World War I and World War II Memorials are proposed to commemorate the fallen and those who fought alongside in the two world wars. Each monument commemorates a world war - the loss of life, the courage and sacrifice. The civic duties the paired monuments perform are to strengthen the Griffin land axis, provide a backdrop and enclosure to the memorial precinct and terminate the national memorial zone with a civic element that is at once the entry and end point to the National Memorial zone.
